Begin by boiling water in a kettle. Once boiling, pour 4 cups of the hot water into a large heatproof pitcher. Add the black tea bags and let them steep for approximately 5 minutes to extract a rich flavor. After steeping, carefully remove the tea bags and set the pitcher aside to cool to room temperature.
While the tea is cooling, prepare the peaches. Place the sliced peaches into a blender and blend until smooth. If you like some texture, pulse the blender a few times to keep some small chunks of peach.
In a separate bowl or pitcher, combine the peach puree, honey, and fresh lemon juice. Mix vigorously until the honey is fully dissolved into the peach mixture, creating a well-blended puree.
Once the brewed tea has cooled, pour in the prepared peach mixture and stir thoroughly to ensure that the flavors are well incorporated and unified.
Next, add the cold water to the mixture and stir again. Cover the pitcher and place it in the refrigerator for at least 1 hour. This chilling period allows the flavors to meld beautifully.
When ready to serve, take a glass and fill it generously with ice cubes. Pour the honey peach iced tea over the ice until the glass is full.
For a delightful presentation, garnish each serving with fresh mint leaves. Optionally, add a few thin slices of peach on the rim or floating in the drink for an elegant touch.
Notes
Adjust honey to taste and serve with fresh mint for garnish.
