6tablespoonsunsalted butter, melted, plus extra for greasing
4clovesgarlic, finely minced
2tablespoonsfresh parsley, finely chopped
1tablespoonfresh rosemary, finely chopped
1tablespoonfresh thyme leaves
1teaspoongarlic powder
0.5teaspoononion powder
optionalfreshly grated Parmesan cheese for topping
Instructions
In a small bowl, mix the warm water (around 110°F), active dry yeast, and sugar together. Allow the mixture to sit undisturbed for 5-10 minutes, or until it becomes frothy, indicating the yeast is activated.
In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the all-purpose flour and salt. Create a well in the center of the flour, and pour in the yeast mixture along with 3 tablespoons of the melted butter.
Stir the mixture together until a cohesive dough forms. Transfer the dough to a lightly floured surface and knead for about 5-7 minutes, until the dough is smooth and elastic in texture.
Lightly grease a large bowl and place the kneaded dough inside, turning it to coat all sides in oil. Cover with a clean kitchen towel and allow it to rise in a warm location for approximately 1 hour, or until it has doubled in size.
Once risen, gently punch down the dough to release any air bubbles, and turn it out onto a floured surface.
Divide the dough into 12 equal pieces. Roll each piece into a smooth ball.
In a separate small bowl, combine the remaining melted butter, minced garlic, parsley, rosemary, thyme, garlic powder, and onion powder. Mix well to create a flavorful herb-infused butter.
Dip each dough ball into the herb butter mixture, ensuring each ball is thoroughly coated in the mixture. Arrange the coated dough balls in a greased bundt pan or a 9x13 inch baking dish.
After all dough balls are placed in the pan, pour any leftover herb butter over the top for extra flavor.
Cover the pan lightly with plastic wrap and let the dough rise again for an additional 30-40 minutes, allowing it to puff up once more.
Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) during the last 10 minutes of rising.
Bake the bread in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes, or until the top is golden brown and the bread is cooked through.
If desired, immediately sprinkle grated Parmesan cheese over the top of the bread while it's still warm to enhance the flavor.
Notes
Allow the bread to cool for a few minutes before removing it from the pan. Serve warm with melted butter or olive oil.
