Instructions
Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and prepare a 9x5-inch loaf pan.
In a medium-sized saucepan, melt the unsalted butter over medium heat until browned.
In a large mixing bowl, combine the well-mashed bananas with both brown sugar and granulated sugar.
Add the eggs and vanilla extract to the banana-sugar mixture and whisk until smooth.
Pour the slightly cooled brown butter into the banana mixture and mix thoroughly.
In a separate bowl, whisk together the all-purpose flour, baking soda, salt, cinnamon, and nutmeg.
Gradually fold the dry mixture into the wet banana batter until just combined.
If using, gently fold in the chopped nuts.
Pour the banana bread batter into the prepared loaf pan and smooth the top.
Bake for 60-65 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
Let the banana bread cool in the pan for about 10 minutes before transferring to a wire rack.
Notes
For an inviting presentation, serve each slice with a pat of butter or a drizzle of honey on top.
